Gwen Stefani ain't resting on her laurels, that's for damn sure. How so, you ask? The simple fact that she will be releasing her sophomore solo album, The Sweet Escape, on December 5th, 2006, should be proof enough. The first single from her new album will be the Neptunes produced joint, "Wind It Up." In addition to tracks by The Neptunes, Stefani's new endeavor will feature songs produced by Akon, Tony Kanal, Nellee Hooper, Sean Garrett, Swizz Beatz, Dave Stewart and Keane's Tim Rice-Oxley. "This album is surprisingly different than the last one. I started recording it last year before [my son] Kingston was born and it's definitely evolved over the last year. The dance sound is very 'now.' It's modern...not so retro," says Stefani of the project. Stefani embark on a U.S. tour in April 2007 in support of the album. |
